How did honors students spend their quarantine?

Della Mamani

Since March 13th, life for everyone has changed. Students had to transition from the classroom to their own rooms in order to finish classes online, instructors needed to convert their lessons to suit the online format, and many parents were forced to handle situations concerning their own jobs. In addition to these changes, many governors required residents to practice social distancing and enter a state of quarantine. For some people, this quarantine could have allowed them to catch up with their favorite shows and maybe start some new ones. They might have taken up a new hobby or activity. It might have been a time for them to do absolutely nothing! A few Honors Students wanted to let the readers know how they spent their time in quarantine, as well as share a few book, movie, and T.V recommendations.

“I spent the summer reading, writing novels, working out, and doing lots of Disney puzzles. My favorite books I read over the summer were The Oracle Code by Marieke Nijkamp and I Wish You all the Best by Mason Deaver. My movie recommendation would have to be Beetlejuice and 3 Generations.” – Hill Leonard

“I worked two jobs, read books, made new fun meals, went on social distancing dates with friends, walks in parks, picnics, biking, participated in my family ping pong table tournament, played board games, and had card game marathons. My roommates and family watched Hamilton. I like This is Us, Good Doctor, and my family binged some old movies.” – Amy Frosch
