Books and Broadway for Your Winter Break Bingeing

With the semester wrapping up and winter break looming, everyone is looking forward to having some time to themselves. Winter is the best time to snuggle up with a book and your drink of choice and be transported into a whole new world. Another great way to spend the break is to enjoy musicals and get lost in the songs. Here are some book recommendations based on some of the most loved Broadway musicals.

Self Care Series: Time to Make Time

The key to surviving and hopefully thriving through these last days of the fall semester is to stay relaxed and organized: the most helpful way to do this, as mentioned in last edition’s article, is time blocking. When finding time to study, exercise, and hang with friends gets difficult, it is time to make time.

Study Tips for Students, by Students

Prioritizing which final to study for and how to study for it are among some of the common problems of students, along with having to balance study time with current coursework. If you are among this population of students, hopefully these tips from your peers listed below will be helpful as you begin your study sessions.

Let's Talk About Race

This spring, Dr. Bomberger will be teaching a course called “Let’s Talk about Race”. Students will be learning about the different life experiences of students, listen to a variety of speakers, and read/discuss Ibram X. Kendi’s book How to Be an Anti-Racist. The class will focus on difficult conversations and start a dialog among students about their own views regarding race and ethnicity.

I asked Dr. Bomberger for some extra information about the class, here’s what she had to say.
