Little Library at Gannon University

Emma Steele

Being a part of the Honors Program at Gannon University is more than having dedication to the challenging academics we pride ourselves on. Although education is an important characteristic of an Honors student, having a passion for service plays a role as well. Serving both the Erie community as well as domestic and international places can broaden understanding and knowledge, as it provides students with new experiences that teach about compassion and selflessness. These virtues better us as both students and people of impacting, positive character.

Students in the Honors Program have the opportunity to participate in many different service and volunteering opportunities within and outside of campus. One service project that is in need of consistent help is the Gannon Little Library Project. For the past several weeks, groups of students have met every Tuesday and Thursday to sort, process, and organize boxes of donated books from local libraries and organizations. Because of the large volume of materials donated, this process is still underway and in need of help. All Honors students are welcome to join in serving the Erie community through this project, as it will provide access to free reading materials for anyone who desires them.

Groups meet every Tuesday and Thursday between 11am-1pm (meet in Honors Center at 10:55am) and between 3:15pm-4:15pm (meet in Honors Center at 2:55pm).
