Updates in the Honors Center

Azhar Rahama

The Honors Center is a great place to go when you need a quiet space to study alongside similarly academically-focused peers from a wide variety of backgrounds and majors. The Honors community is full of high-achieving and involved students, and the Honors Center provides the perfect setting for this diverse body of students to build a sense of unity and community within the program. The Honors community is like a second home where you can walk in anytime, whether it is between classes to study or just to relax with a friend. If you need to talk to someone, everyone is there for you and wants to help and guide you through your college experience.

For those of you who have been around a while, you may have noticed some changes in the Honors Center. There are now new and colorful rugs lying beneath the furniture as well as some new shelves, decorations, and even a mural hung upon the walls. These details add to the comfortable atmosphere of the Honors Center. If you have yet to stop by the Honors Center this semester, be sure to check out these beautiful updates!

The physical environment of the Honors Center is only one aspect of the program which contributes to the overall community. Throughout the semester and entire school year, be on the lookout for social and service events hosted by the various Honors committees. These events are a great way for us to come together and get to know one another while also growing as individuals and giving back to the Erie community.

The Honors Center is a great place to study and meet new students. I hope that the recent re-decoration as well as exciting upcoming events will encourage you to spend time cultivating the Honors community. I look forward to joining with you in community, service, personal, and academic growth through the Honors Program!
